I see water

Time to leave LA proper today and move down closer to the Disneyland area in Anaheim.  We had some time to kill before we could book in to the new hotel so we decided to take the coastal route around.

First up was Santa Monica, a gorgeous beach area complete with pier and mini theme park.  Looks like a lovely area - one that Id love to explore more if ever we returned.  We followed the coastal road all the way around to Long Beach, going through Venice, Manhattan and Redondo Beaches, Marina Del Ray, and also all along the Palos Verdes area (from here we could see over to Catalina Island).  Lunch was a grand affair at our first 7-11. Once we got to Long beach we had a quick stop to see the old Queen Mary which is a huge old gal.

I have to explain this photo I took while on the freeway to Anaheim.  I saw this car back a bit and saw it had Tonys towing on the side and decided it would be a fun photo.  Well the poor guy driving got more than a little worried.  He slowed down and then he must have decided to get a way from us.  He slowly caught us and when I looked over he was waving at us - in a nice way. He then took off and changed lanes so that we weren't next to him.  We decided that he must of thought that we were going to report him or something.  The look on his face was priceless :-)

We found our way to Buena Park which is right near Knotts Berry Farm (ran out of time to go there).  The Radisson Suites were quite nice and we had 2 separate sleeping areas which is always great for the light sleepers.  We decided to try KFC for dinner as it was close to the liquor store - needed to retock the wine bar.  Dirty birdie is no better here - except they dont serve fries, plenty of potato mash and gravy though.
