The happiest place on earth - thanks Walt

Bit of a rough sleep last night, as nice as the room is we aren't used to double beds.  We had breaky included in our room rate so we off to the restaurant for the buffet of sorts.  Weve pretty much only paid for breaky on that first day back in Hawaii - we've had a couple of cereal choices in our room which has been good as we don't start the day over carbo'd up.

We had a couple of tough decisions to make this morning. Firstly, did we go to Disneyland or to California's Adventure.  Secondly, did we go in the morning or the afternoon so we could watch the parade...hmmm.

We decided to go later in the day so that we could see a parade.  We usually go early and then someone is pooped and ready to go home before sunset.  So that meant we had time in the morning to have a swim and do a little bit of shopping.  Weve been on the hunt for a new knee brace for Tony in the hope that his knee pain can be settled a bit.  Alas no luck again but we did get a heat rub to try.

We settled on Disney s California Adventure park because we had been to a Disneyland while we were in Hong Kong.  We parked in the Disney car park and caught the transfer bus to the park.  Thats a pretty good system as we could then buy tickets before getting to the ticket queue at the gate.  We still had a delay going through the mandatory bag check that seems to be everywhere here - that cant be escaped it seems.

As soon as we entered the park it was off to Radiator Springs to try to get on the Cars ride.  Sad faces now as we couldn't, it had actually just broken down and was to be closed for an unknown period - 'technical difficulties' was all they would say.  So, we scurried back to the theatre to check out the Aladdin musical.  We had no idea what it would be like, but it was excellent - it was a live stage show, done a bit similarly to the Lion King.  We tried to get to the Cars ride again but still out of action. So we spent the next few hours wandering around this massive park.

 

 

Nate wanted to do a couple of rides, but of course being late afternoon the queues were crazy. We did however get to go on the Carousel and the Jelly Jump. The Jelly Jump was a little kids ride and still it terrified me as I had to go up quite high in the air - I only got through it because I kept my eyes shut  haha.

 Last up for the day was the Parade so we managed to get a spot right near the centre fountain and we watched it all go by.  It was a bit like a Disney Christmas Pageant with all our favourite characters so I think we all enjoyed it.

 

 

We got dinner on the way home at a steak place called The Outback - an Aussie themed place a bit like Hoggs breath I guess.  The steaks were excellent, and only surpassed by the service we got. Even the owner was serving and he gave us extra bread and discounted meals!
